Test Reporting

Backflow assembly field test results must be submitted electronically through the WSSC Water Cross-Connection Test Report (CCTR) system—linked below. The user guide, also linked, is available as a user navigation tool. For any proposed modifications to the data presented by the CCTR system, please use this form

Cross-Connection Certification

Existing Master Plumbers and Journeyman Plumbers, or someone seeking those licenses, must obtain their training and certification from an approved instructor

First Time Cross-Connection Technicians
  • Requires a minimum of a 32-hour course
  • Certification is good for three years
Recertification
  • Must complete an 8-hour course
  • Recertification is good for three years
Grace Periods Not Permitted 

WSSC Water’s automated backflow tracking system does not permit for any grace period. You must be current with your certification and registered with the WSSC Water licensing department in order to submit test reports. 

What to do When Certification Lapses
  • Recertification must be obtained within 12 months of expiration
  • If not, you must complete the full 32-hour course to re-register

How to Obtain Tags
  1. Registered firms can print their own tags, if the printed document tag meets the Code requirements
  2. WSSC Water will print tags for you. Registered firms can pick them up. See instructions here.
